I read an interesting article today over at Search Engine Land.

There’s two stores here in Albuquerque with the same name, same products, basically everything the same (it’s a franchise operation) but one of the sites is ranking well in the search engines but the other one isn’t.

So they asked questions about site structure, meta data, etc.

And nothing stuck out as to why one site would rank better than the other.

And he finished the article with an interesting assumption, or question.  One of the stores is located closer to the center of the city.

Could that be why that one particular store was ranking higher in the search engines?

You decide…..
