In John 17:4 Jesus says this “I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.”

I notice 2 things in this verse:  

1. We are called to bring glory to God “on this earth” 
2. The way we do it is by “Finishing the work he gave us to do”

Do you know the work he has called you to do?  

Second important question… Do you know what it will look like when your assignment is finished?  

These 2 questions sent me on a journey.

After nerding out for a season I created this framework to help people discover their purpose:

“When you find what you love to do and use what you’re great at doing to become a solution to problems that God is calling you to fix, that’s where you’ll find your purpose.”  

The Purpose Discovery Process framework can be broken down into 4 parts:

• Passion
• Strengths
• Needs
• Calling

What we’re looking for is a role where these 4 things converge.  This is what you were born to do.  When you discover this role, you will find yourself doing something that matters to you and you’ll be making a huge difference in the world because you’re leveraging your God given strengths (the thing you do better than everyone else in the world) to solve problems.  

In the 4 Fields you’ll see where the Purpose Discover Process fits in:  

Here are 4 questions to help you begin to discover the unique assignment God has put you on this planet to finish:

1. What one thing, if you were to do it everyday, would keep you fascinated and motivated for the rest of your life?
2. What do people say they wish they could do like you, but you think they’re crazy because it comes so easy to you?
3. If you could get a meeting with the President, Prime Minister or King and ask them to fix one problem, which problem would you ask them to fix?
4. What Does God Say You Should Do?

Think through these questions and begin to think about a unique role where these 4 things converge together.

That’s what you were born to do.  

Then begin to talk with the creator of the universe who knows everything and ask him what it looks like to finish what you created to do.  

That’s how you will glorify God with your life.
