Satanist Turns Evangelist – 3 Steps To Release The Power of God

The Weekly Worker Maker #04

For many years, I traveled with a team that would do shows in stadiums around the world breaking bricks and telling people about Jesus.  

We were in Holland and began to do what I call “Reverse Altar Calls.”  

Usually, evangelistic teams ask people to raise their hands for people to give their lives to Jesus.  We switched it up and asked the people who did not believe in Jesus to raise their hands.  Then we would choose one of those people, have them come up on stage in front of everyone and on the microphone they would publicly share that they didn’t believe in Jesus.  

Then we would pray for them in front of everyone to encounter the power and love of God.

The Bible says this: “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” 1 Cor. 2:4-5

One particular night in Holland, while doing those “reverse altar calls”, we invited a lady on stage to say she didn’t believe in Jesus. After that, we prayed for her you could see her eyes get real big– she was surprised.  

The guy speaking on the mic asked her about what she was experiencing and then sent her back to her seat.  

He then shared the Gospel to the people that were there and gave them a chance to turn control of their lives over to Jesus.  

This lady, who had denied Jesus just minutes before, without hesitation, came up to surrender her life to Jesus.  

I struck up a conversation with her because I wanted to hear her story.  

Turns out she had been a satanist.  

At some point she had realized satanism was evil but she never wanted to go to a church.  

She pointed at 2 other ladies and said, “Those are 2 of my satanist friends.  I’m going to go lead them to Jesus.” 

15 minutes before this she was denying Jesus.  Now she was preaching this good God to others!  

What made the difference?  

1 Corinthians 2:4-5.  She encountered the power of God!

You see these 3 things all throughout the Bible whenever the Power of God was released.
